Fishing Skill

Anyone know what kinda rod/bait/skill-level you need for this? Chernabog 10:21, 16 August 2006 (EDT)

Fishing up monsters is pretty easy to even those with 0 fishing skill. Monsters give the !!! message, and play the more intense fishing music. Any rod or bait works for fishing up monsters as well. The only chance for you can break your rod is when you try to catch a fish that is too big for your rod, but at skill level 0 it would be nigh impossible to work down the stamina for most fish in Qufim. Snapping lines will occur most times that you reel in your line (hit enter) when the stamina on the Fish hasn't been completely depleted, regardless of monster or fish (it also has a chance to snap when you completely reel in a fish). Using a bait that doesn't normally catch a fish in the location your fishing at seems to greatly increase the chances of fishing up a monster. I switched to a Fly Lure & started getting a more noticeable monster catch rate which really helped. --Showmo 04:27, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
