This battle is extremely easy with 6 Beastmasters using Seedbed Soil or Warm Meat Broth jugs. Preferably FunguarFamiliar because they are much cheaper and are just as effective in this fight. Roar from tigers and Spore from the funguars gives Mocking Colibri a very strong Paralyze effect which lasts for much of the fight. Numbshroom is decent but it is more like a Red Mage version of Paralyze, which is not as powerful as the Tiger/Funguar moves. Enter the level capped area and Call Beast. Wait until Call Beast gets down to about 1 minute because he hits hard and you may need to re-call a pet if yours has hate for too long.
We had a BST/NIN enter the circle and aggro the Mocking Colibri and pull it toward the back of the circle (away from the entrance). At that point have everyone send pets in and pull back to the entrance of the large room. It is a strict pet fight unless absolutely necessary, and keep your axe or scythe unequipped just in case you get charmed somehow. Reward pets and call new ones as needed. If you get a Paralyze move from your pets early you will likely only need one pet for the entire fight. You will most likely need two if you do not get paralyze, because the Mocking Colibri hits for about 350 per hit, and Pecking Flurry can do up to 1000 or so to a jug pet.
Fish Oil Broth is not recommended because CourierCarrie's Sic moves are not as effective as a FunguarFamiliar or SaberSiravarde's, and she is frequently intimidated by the Mocking Colibri, as Aquans are intimidated by Birds. Also she is usually more expensive.
Our team went 7/7 on the fight and everyone received at least 250-300K worth of drops.
- Samurai with Soboro Sukehiro can stun lock Wisecrak. If 2 Samuarai in party, give them a stun order and the Mocking Colibri will never charm the party again.
this fight is one of the easiest ways to make money. just go in w/ 5 or 6 smn, have them all summon carby and leave him at it. just meteor everytime you can. mp is never a problem. and always wait for carby to land atleast 1 hit before blood pact'ing. or could be messy. recast at the ebony door. then, just wait it out. dont always get the best drops, but with it being this easy, no need to complain --Nolet 03:01, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
