Talk:Myochin Kote

From FFXIclopedia, the free Final Fantasy XI encyclopedia

Ok, so everyone who plays SAM goes out and immediately grabs either the O.Kote, or the rare/ex O.Kote. +20 attack? What's not to like about that?

However, we see that if you have any gear that state "Enhances rice ball effect", you can potentially get a very high attack boost. From the Shogun Rice Ball, it's a 50 attack boost, 30 defense boost, and +5 Double attack. If you're wearing two pieces of "Enhances rice ball effect" armor, it doubles that rice ball effect! So, 100 attack boost, 60 defense, +10 double attack.

Just one piece of armor, like this AF piece, has the potential to blow O.Kote out of the water completely. The only downside would be buying rice balls all the time.

So why don't I ever see Rice Ball Samurai? -- [Taomage|Taomage]

No one ever uses these hands because they're a waste of 20 Attack. Most meat dishes add +6 or more STR with a +70 or more Attack boost, and on top of that, you can still use O Kote. With the AF head, you lose +5% Haste or +5 STR if you want the double effect.--Enternius 14:14, 22 September 2008 (UTC)

Yes but with the recent addition of the boots that add on that is +150 attack +90 def and 15% double attack. I think that almost outweighs the lose of haste and str. --Sean Night 16:51, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
