Ok, doing some primitive research as I don't have the patience to do 10k hits for the 99% confident to within 1% margin of error according to my friend, here's my base line crit: 1198 hits, 278 crit which gives a 23.21% crit rate without Pahluwan Khazagand, instead using Rapparee Harness Tomorrow I'll switch to Pahluwan Khazagand, with identical equipment otherwise, which should isolate this as the only thing changing that affects crit, as neither pieces have dex on them. Testing done on Royal Leech in SSG with no use of Sneak Attack or any kind of forced crit. I have 4 crit merits.--Tarundi 03:56, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
1092 hits 284 crit for a 26.1% crit rate with Pahluwan Khazagand, so I'd say probably between 2-4% but it's really not enough data to be sure. If anyone else wants to continue testing and post some numbers so we can combine results or something that'd be great.--Tarundi 01:33, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
The critical hit rate could also just be a change in the DEX modifier of critical hit rates... I've heard stories of other races not getting nearly the increased critical hit rate I notice as a Mithra Red Mage. This is just supposition though, and would require several dozen tests, which I may get bored enough to go do (hooray for hours to kill on doing 10,000 hits 30 times or more).
