Talk:Poison Potion

From FFXIclopedia, the free Final Fantasy XI encyclopedia

I am always hearing references to using poison potions when an enemy uses sleep spells (Like in The Root of the Problem). Obviously there is some property of a poison potion or some game property about being poisoned that I am not aware of becasue this claim doesn't make any sense to me. Can someone explain why you would want to use a poison potion and possibly add this as a note to the Poison Potion/Poison (Status Effect) page/s? --Impax 15:28, 15 June 2007 (CDT)

Any DoT status effect, including Poison, Dia, and Bio will wake any player or monster from a sleep status if applied/received before hand. It will not wake you however if Stoneskin is applied because Stoneskin is absorbing the DoT. You are gradually losing HP which makes you wake. In the same respect, any Cure spell will wake players, however Regen will not wake players. So some strategies if mobs cast sleep spells are to bring Poison Potions so if you are slept, you will be woken up immediately from the Poison status effect. --ЩåΫķẮ †Talk† 15:38, 15 June 2007 (CDT)
A little clarification, if a player or monster is asleep due to Nightmare, there is no DoT status effect that will awake them. --CharitwoTalk 09:58, 16 June 2007 (CDT)
