I traded the following items:
- Popstar: Snowman Knight
- Brilliant Snow: Snowman Mage
- Selbina Milk: Snowman Miner
- Yagudo Cherry: Random Buff
- Yagudo Grape: Random Buff
- Yagudo Drink: Random Buff
- All trades in a row with the same Rancher. Ranchers were not close to the Buffalo, however.

A friend and I started out with two stacks of crystals and a stack of 99 arrows, and also traded some random junk from the mobs in West Sarutabaruta. I got nothing (I already had the snowmen from last year) while my friend got all three snowmen, and the New Year's Gift. Another person joined us and we continued trading arrows and random junk for another three hours or so and got nothing but buffs. I went to Jeuno and got us each nine jugs of Uleguerand Milk. My friend got the New Year's Gift on the first jug of milk and gave me their extras, and I traded 17 jugs and got no items. Also, the ranchers will give you, at the least, buffs for Yagudo Necklaces, but they won't actually take the necklace. So if you're soloing and in need of a buff or something, and you have a Yagudo necklace, spam them with it. Alraunne 07:07, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
You can also trade Kindred's Seals and they will buff, but not take the seal. Same thing with Northern Furs. --Kyaannii 08:22, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
I traded in yet another stack of Uleguerand Milk and got nothing, so I went and bought five popotoes from a nearby regional merchant, and a stack of bone arrows, and set out to trade in random junk as well because I was tired of spending gil. In the end a silk thread got me the New Year's Gift, after trading in all the popotoes and nearly the entire stack of bone arrows. So I'm thinking maybe Uleguerand Milk isn't as good to trade as the article implies. Alraunne 18:59, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
