This weapon could be interesting to experiment with in the ToAU zones using the "Refresh" sanction effect rather than the standard "longer food effect" DD melees use. --Frohike 11:04, 11 September 2006 (PDT)

I've seen these used to great effect by BST/NIN duel wielding them while wearing a Gaudy Harness. --Keneth

This axe is Altana's gift to a BST. Even if you don't want to equip them always, carrying 1 or 2 with you (depending on /nin or not) and swapping to them when you need a little extra HP is great. Combined with sanction refresh this are godly as its effects far out weigh sanction: regen. You don't have to suffer the melee loss from wearing a Gaudy Harness when you could be using equipment which boosts your melee stats and you get +5 or +10hp (for 1 or 2 axes respectively) every other tic when your MP is greater than 0. Obviously, when not equipped with Sanction: Refresh, your Gaudy Harness is valuable here during melee once again (or even just to swap to when you need HP). When fighting a mob that does not have any nasty AoE TP moves which can be absorbed by Utsusemi, such as a Colibri, you have near unlimited HP provided you don't pull hate for "too long" off your pet. You can take a few hits, turn your back to let your pet regain hate and regen the lost HP quickly, then return to the fray ^_^ --Bekisa 04:04, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
