Talk:Sibyl Guards

From FFXIclopedia, the free Final Fantasy XI encyclopedia

Although the armor they wear cannot be worn by rangers (at least the PC ones), it is mentioned a couple of times in the Windurst mission they are rangers. I think the hand armor is something else, but I can't tell what it is by looking at the snap shots of the guards. --Pinkfae 13:58, 18 August 2006 (EDT)

One other thing, I speculated what their level is by the level of the armor. Yet, since they are able to wear armor that isn't allowed for PC of the same job there is no way to know for sure what level they are. --Pinkfae 14:00, 18 August 2006 (EDT)

I wanted to note that the armor they are wearing is probably NOT the national armors, but their original counter parts- the Gold Cuirass Set and Silk Coat. I always found it kind of odd that the guards in Jeuno were wearing the Musketeer armor, until I saw the Gold Armor and realized they are wearing this instead. While the Gold Set is still not equipable by the RNG class, it's still more realistic than the I.M. sets. You'll notice there is a legitimate armor counterpart to all the national equipment- such as the Tactician Magician's Cloak Set and the Silk Coat Set. Mind if I correct it? --SongOfChaos 18:08, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

To correct myself, it's the White Cloak, not the silk cloak. I went ahead and changed the I.M. to the gold counterparts. I'm not sure what the mitts would be without a picture. From my memory, they were White Mitts, but without a picture, I won't put my name to it. Otherwise, corrected it. --SongOfChaos 16:51, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

Galadrial, I undid your undoing of my change to the uniforms. I stand by my original change as it makes no sense to me that elite Windurstian guards would wear another nation's conquest armor; the neutral Gold Armor set should take precedence if we're going to label the armor pieces worn at all. That's my opinion, and I'm open for debate on it, but I'd prefer input before changes are made to it. --SongOfChaos 12:46, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
