Can you skill-up a weapon that is not primarily used by a specific job, but can be used by the subjob?

Example: Can I skill-up Great Katana using a Shinai (Lvl 1: All Jobs) on THF/NIN? Even though THF doesn't get Great Katana, but NIN does. added by Tranx of Siren server on 19 Jan 09

No, your main job needs to be proficient (i.e. have a natural skill) in a specific skill in order to get skill ups with it on that job.Oobdinglada 04:09, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
