Talk:Sneak
From FFXIclopedia, the free Final Fantasy XI encyclopedia
The second part of "Sneak drops when an attack is made or you are hit." is false: Sneak only wears when you are hit and you are the target of the attack that hit you. I.E. if you are hit by an AoE that you are not the target of, Sneak (and Invisible for that matter) will not wear off. - Hiachi 16:24, 15 July 2006 (EDT)
That's not true, AOE does blast away sneak and invis, and if you are the target of a regular attack, it doesn't even need to hit you for the effects to wear off. It used to happen to me all the time, until I wised up. --Chrisjander 16:28, 15 July 2006 (EDT)
I know that if its an AoE Sleep it wont knock off Sneak. I do remember not getting S/I worn off when I took damage from an AoE once or twice but not enough substantial proof since it happened awhile ago and I am not sure. --Nynaeve 18:36, 15 July 2006 (EDT)
I've gotten hit by AoE spells in Newton Movalpolos (targeted at other people in my party) without Invis wearing. I don't specifically remember about AoE WS/abilities, though. --Ichthyos 18:43, 15 July 2006 (EDT)
Chests and Coffers
Now I'm absolutely positive that Coffers remove Sneak (thanks to AF quests in Beadeaux), but I could have sworn that Chests do not (hence, I was shocked when my Sneak was involuntarily removed in Beadeaux and I died). --Ivrai 08:34, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
