I cleaned this up and added my own data. The tests were performed using Fraps and counting frames using VisualDub. 'Start' time was marked by the inital cursor appearance at the start of casting a spell. 'Stop' time was marked by the cursor reappearance at the end of casting a spell. Multiple tests were performed, any times off by more than 10 frames (approx 1/3 of a second) were thrown out of testing, and the average of the tests was recorded. Some of my test data has been lost (Manteel, Marduk), but I plan to add them the next time I get a chance. --Asmoranomar 21:58, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
I cleaned this up yet again. I tried to make it conform with other similar articles. I also removed the information regarding Fast Cast and the speculation on how it all stacks. This was initially a project of mine to determine how things worked, but after looking at it, it seemed to 'gloat' a bit. For anyone interested in the original information, you can find it below:

The above data seems somewhat suspect due to the lack of commonly agreed upon values (Loq isn't the same Fast Cast as Warlock's Mantle and Rostrums in the table, for instance). However, if the last value is accurate then: (1 -37% Song Spellcasting Time) * (1 - 50% Nightingale) * (1 - 21% Fast Cast) fits the data quite nicely and indicates that none of the three categories stack. If it stacked normally, it obviously breaks 100% Casting time reduction so one would expect it to just instantly cast. That it doesn't either shows the animation limitations or that it doesn't actually stack. It would be interesting to reassess this problem now that it's possible to get -98% Song Spellcasting Time using Nightingale, Sheik Manteel, Minstrel's Ring, and 2x 5% Dewomer Knives as BRD/NIN. -Byrthnoth 04:28, October 5, 2009 (UTC)
