Talk:Souls in Shadow

From FFXIclopedia, the free Final Fantasy XI encyclopedia

"To check to see if the latent effect has disappeared, simply unequip and re-equip the Scythe of Trials and if you do not get the bonus stats, you are done."

This is misleading. The bonus stats under "Latent Effect:" will always be there. What will disappear are the Vs. Lightning +10 and vs. Light +10 stats in the equipment window.

Does anyone know if level synced weaponskills count? I'm assuming they don't, but it would be good info if someone has already tested.--DarkTrance 08:48, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

It say's something about accidentally fail the quest, how will that happen? --Truecrow 02:16, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Level Synch weapon skill points do count. Under level synch the latent effect was absent so I think it may be necessary to be unsynched to accurately check for latent effect.

Is it possible to get points by attacking campaign mobs while not using allied tags? Similar to obtaining skillups by not getting tags when a campaign battle is going on, I mean. --Derriku 02:42, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

I don't think so... if you kill those mobs, do you get EXP?--Anthoron T/ C 06:26, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

I did get Map to the Annals of Truth (key item) while all latent effects were still avtive. So, it may not disappear even you get your 300 WS points. Use "Latent checker" windower plugin if you still see latent effects after you spend a lot of time doing WS...
