5/16/09: Confirmed by Catwho and Ayashi of Seraph that the fame requirement in Jeuno is Level 9, or Hero level fame. Ayashi could not trigger this quest and we discovered she only had level 8 fame. She traded in enough Selbina cabbage for level 9 fame, and was able to trigger the quest. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Catwho (talk • contribs).

Quest bugged?

I have never before seen this happen... I just completed The Gobbiebag Part IX and talked to Bluffnix again and he would not give me the quest... I know I have the fame req. because I have been playing for over 3 years and have Hero level Reputation in every city... I tryed zoning out and back in and still the quest would not activate. Then, I went and talked to Mendi and consulted Wiki to confirm that I indeed met the requirements, which I did... This time, when I went back and talked to Bluffnix. the quest activated like normal... But it would not activate until after I talked with Mendi. Has anyone else had a similar problem recently/ever with the gobbiebag line of quests like this? This has to be one of the oddest thigns I have ever seen, although it should be noted that FFXI is not without bugs, last one I ran into was mentioned here on wiki that had to do with Ranger artifact quest where you needed to scavange in Castle Oztroja for an item in a pond, and many people could scavange for hours with no result, log out and back in and BAM! first try. I experienced this myself. There was a partial maintanence today, for PLayOnline as well as FFXI, maybe this could have something to do with this, or simply no one has experienced it until now... had the quest not activated after confirming my fame I was about to call a GM to ask if there were any known issues with the quest. (Now if anyone has the same problem it can be pointed out that it appears talking to Mendi seems to fix the problem.) --Kikorimo 09:04, November 24, 2009 (UTC)
