Talk:Utsusemi: Ni

Anyone knows how long Utsusemi: Ni lasts before it wears off on its own? --Itazura 18:55, 10 July 2007 (CDT)

Spell Duration: 15 minutes, or when all images are used up.

Is there a guide that will expaing the Ni and Itchi working together. In otherwords when you cast ni with itchi up di you get 7/6 shadows or still ony 4/3. and if you cast ni again does the itchi shadows get used first or does ni.

ie.
casts itchi = 3 shadows
casts Ni = 7 shadows
hit 3 times casts Ni = 7 or 4 shadows
Does the secound ni leave you with 7 or 4 shadows?
This is with Nin main.

I believe Ni overwrites Ichi, but not vise versa. e.g.
Casts Ichi = 3 shadows
Casts Ni = 4 Shadows
Hit 2 times= 2 Shadows
Casts Ichi = 2 Shadows
Not 100% sure on this though :) --Siphon 10:14, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

Ichi>>Ni explanation

So the way it works is Ni gives you 4/3 shadows and Ichi gives you 3 shadows. Each single target hit costs one shadow. AOE spell effects destroy all shadows and AOE WS either consume a random amount of shadows (1 to 3)(Whirl of Rage) bypass them (Leaving them up for single target attacks(Bomb Toss) or they drop shadows like AOE spells. There are also single target weapon skills that take multiple shadows (Goblin Rush)

Ichi does not over-write Ni, so if you start to cast Ichi you have to manually cancel the Ni shadows for new shadows to pop up, otherwise the message "Utsusemi: Ichi has no effect on XXXX" will show up. Ni however will over-write Ichi. (Though because of the 1.5 second casting time people often wait until all shadows are expended before recasting)

Lastly, any completion of casting (IE it was not interrupted and you weren't stunned etc) always consumes a tool (even if Ichi does not stack over Ni) however both spells only consume one tool. (The only exception to this rule is if you have Ninja Tool Expertise)Katatonic 02:29, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

ACP Reward?

Which key item gives you the chance for this scroll?Jared Fox 06:15, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

The Scroll of Utsusemi: Ni is only available through using the Crimson Key, so far. To get that key, you need to refarm the three Rare/EX Seedspalls that you needed for The Echo Awakens, and trade them to Squintrox Dryeyes. --Taeria Saethori 08:55, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
