Discussion

Template Changes

Do you think we need to repeat the element and storage value? --Chrisjander t/ c 16:40, 10 June 2007 (CDT)

No, not really. I'll remove the extras. ~ Karuberu 16:43, 10 June 2007 (CDT)

Also, thumb and/or frame tends to make it too big, to my eye. --Chrisjander t/ c 16:41, 10 June 2007 (CDT)

It's a work in progress. I'll probably shrink it later ~ Karuberu 16:43, 10 June 2007 (CDT)

Is it just me, or is it messing with the Other Uses section? --Chrisjander t/ c 16:44, 10 June 2007 (CDT)

It is, and I'm not sure why. I'm working on fixing that right now. ~ Karuberu 16:45, 10 June 2007 (CDT)
Well, I got the image to work right now. I wanted it to hang next to the item's table, but this way looks fine and is a lot simpler. ~ Karuberu 17:07, 10 June 2007 (CDT)

I like the new size, now the thumb looks better; not dominating that half of the template. --Chrisjander t/ c 16:47, 10 June 2007 (CDT)

I'm finished tinkering with it for now; I don't see any more changes that need to be made. ~ Karuberu 17:17, 10 June 2007 (CDT)

I changed "Strength" to "Elemental Strength". Also, do you think the moghancement line should just be all bolded, like I have it in {{Moghancement}}? --Chrisjander t/ c 17:19, 10 June 2007 (CDT)

Technically, the strength value is for both the moghancement and the element, that's why I had it as just "strength". And I like the moghancement line the way it is, since the other lines aren't bolded. ~ Karuberu 17:31, 10 June 2007 (CDT)

Fair enough. Should we call it "Aura Strength" then? Since that's what it modifies (which in turn modifies the moghancement). --Chrisjander t/ c 17:34, 10 June 2007 (CDT)

Oh yeah, that's a good name for it, let's use that. ~ Karuberu 17:39, 10 June 2007 (CDT)

Okay, this looks good. I was mainly modifying Template:Moghancement to show you what look I was going for. I think the picture is small enough that it doesn't take away from the Item Template. Think it's finished? --Chrisjander t/ c 19:06, 10 June 2007 (CDT)

Seems finished to me. ~ Karuberu 20:33, 10 June 2007 (CDT)

Implemented the template on Arcane Flowerpot's page as a full example. I'd like to start using this template if there are no objections. ~ Karuberu 09:07, 11 June 2007 (CDT)

The only thing I'm not sure about is the "displaced" rare/ex icons. I know in the image they are right aligned, but I think they get lost in the wiki when not next to the text. Otherwise seems nice. --GAHOO t/ c 09:14, 11 June 2007 (CDT)

I think this is good enough now to implement. Most of the stuff is in the right place, and all of the input markers are there, so when all else fails, we won't have to change the bits that people input; we'd just change the locations of things like the tags. Lets start spreading this around. --Chrisjander t/ c 13:03, 13 June 2007 (CDT)

OK by me. --GAHOO t/ c 13:57, 13 June 2007 (CDT)
Should Moghancement: link to Moghancements?
Should Aura Strength: link to Moghancement#Elemental Strength?
Should Placement: and/or Dimensions: link to Layout?
--GAHOO t/ c 16:40, 13 June 2007 (CDT)
Also, we can use conditionals so that a blank in the Moghancement:, Aura Strength:, Placement:, or Dimensions: field yields Unknown. --GAHOO t/ c 16:43, 13 June 2007 (CDT)

I can agree with all of those. Karuberu will have to do the code though, as I can't seem to get the #ifeq to work the way I want it to (and I'd probably mess up the other code too). --Chrisjander t/ c 16:45, 13 June 2007 (CDT)

#ifeq wouldn't work well here; it's only used when you want to check if two things are equal. If you want to learn how to properly use all the ParserFunctions, read up on them here. ~ Karuberu 23:27, 13 June 2007 (CDT)

Come to think of it, instead of having it put Unknown, it should throw the {{Information Needed}} tag on it. --Chrisjander t/ c 16:51, 13 June 2007 (CDT)

Funny how things work out; I was planning on making very similar changes earlier, but decided not to. My concern with using {{Information Needed}} in this template is that all pages that use this template will appear in the "What links here" list for {{Information Needed}}. ~ Karuberu 23:27, 13 June 2007 (CDT)

Requested Move

Not putting move on it since it's currently being edited, but should this be named Template:Infobox Furnishing instead (since other infobox templates have the "Infobox" title on it)? --ЩåΫķẮ †Talk† 16:55, 10 June 2007 (CDT)

This template shares more similarities to {{Armor}} than the infobox templates. ~ Karuberu 17:07, 10 June 2007 (CDT)

I see. Another thought option would maybe to have a secondary "template" category, maybe in the name of Category:Infobox Templates and add that in the noinclude sections of any Infobox template so all Infobox templates can be found easily? --ЩåΫķẮ †Talk† 17:12, 10 June 2007 (CDT)

I can find them easily enough by typing "Infobox" in the search bar (I have my preferences set to search in the Template namespace). --Chrisjander t/ c 17:16, 10 June 2007 (CDT)
