Template talk:Guide

Usage
I just would like to start a discussion on when and where this template ought to be used. I do agree that "Besieged Strategies" is the only section of Besieged that is a guide in the sense that it is a way of playing the event. I don't know about the section of the article being neutral or not. Frankly, I never really thought of it.
Yet, I wanted to talk about when this template should be used. Should it only be used when the entire article is a guide, rather then just one section of the article? Should not be used when a guide seems to be balanced? Also, how are we defining what a guide is?
I updated that section of the Besieged guide to make it more neutral/factual. I see a big difference between Besieged or Adventuring Fellow Guide and say [[White Mage Guide by Zero]] for example. This particular template talks of it being "more opinion than fact" and being "opinion" "based upon their experiences, successes and mistakes". The factual "guides" like the two above (and there are a ton of articles categorized as "guides" that are similar - i.e. Clamming, Brenner, etc.) don't seem to fit with this template. Check out Brenner vs. [[Guide To Brenner]] for another example. --Gahoo 09:02, 28 June 2006 (PDT)
- Can you please get rid of the German Interwiki link or put it into the noinclude part? Every aricle you create and use this Template will link to the German Template :(. Thank you :). --shaari 09:36, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
I see know use for this template. It should be editable by *anyone* but it isn't. So that means I must resort to manually removing the template from each page it's on. Do I want to do that? NO! But I don't feel I have a choice. (What I'm really saying is NO MORE SYSOP LOCKDOWNS)! --laraul 07:04, 24 February 2009 (UTC)
