Stats last updated June 24, 2009. I started playing in 2002 in college on a laptop. Even now when I play on a full-sized keyboard I still use Compact mode. I've always been a Tarutaru with blue hair, I tried the other races and it seemed like they ran so slow ^^. I really hate WHM on a logical level, but it's always the first job I try to level, and I always take it too far. Emotionally it's probably my favorite job. There's just something awesome about giving somebody a R3 that was going to lose 4k~ exp if they home-pointed. Sure double BRD merit parties and the AU expansion lets people get 10~20k an hour but it still matters to me because I don't have as much time to play. The relatively recent changes SE has made to the class makes me feel like much less (but still somewhat) of an idiot for trying to play it.

I feel in many ways very similar about SMN. It's definitely my biggest goal right now: getting Spirit Taker through slow painful skill ups... summoning magic skill ups are probably the worst thing I've ever tried to do in this game. I average about 1.7 levels per hour. I wonder if this is worse than fishing...?

I generally try to be nice to new players, but boy do some of the older players that do endgame stuff peeve me off. A lot of them act like they own the server, or that the economy would crumble without their contributions. I've been an undergrad for seven years now due to a bone cancer that went undiagnosed for several years. I only have the time to play FFXI during the summer because it's so... let's say time intensive.

A lot of people bash MMORPGs they don't play (like WoW). I really have a distate for that; I play EVE-Online, FFXI, and WoW at various times in the year depending on school. In FFXI, even with my linkshell as a static, I simply can't get an EXP party together, get everyone with the right gear together (without having to go to their mog house/storage/locker), get to the location, and get a sizable amount of exping done in under an hour in this game. In WoW, I can get a full party and run a heroic dungeon with a good group in 40 minutes from login to boss kill. Spend a hundred hours in a game before you bash it? People are more uptight in FFXI too... rude people will /exam you 6+ times just to get you to say something. If you /em spit on somebody in FFXI, you will get swore at. In WoW, it's funny. If FFXI wasn't such of a dominatrix of a game, maybe people would relax and have more fun? Just sayin'..

If MMORPGs were Linux distros, WoW would be Ubuntu, FFXI would be Debian, and EVE-Online would be like Gentoo or something ^^
