Hello! I have a question, why does a digger choco need reseptivity? Thanks in advance!

ok thanks, I can manage 9-10. You may be correct since affection has always played the dominant role in benefits from care plans. I also even noticed (and posted on wiki) that affection appeared to also affect the likelihood of learning abilities. However my bird retired disliking me so I cannot add evidence to support your theory then unfortunately.

hey Urat, I have a retired chocobo with SSS-S(almost SS)-C-F G&C and I am planning on capping discernment with the leftovers. Since it is known that retired chocotrains are worth less, by how much less would you estimate? If they provide 3-4 points per upgrade I could manage that, but if they are like 1-2 points per upgrade it would not be worth it. Thank-you. P.S. if you can think of a way to test this, I might be able to contribute while doing the upgrades.

You sir are brilliant.

Thank you very much for the help. I'll definitely be tipping my hat your way every time I win on the Chocobo circuit. ^^;

I breed many chocobos myself, so feel free to discuss some of the sketchier points of raising them, but I've worked with these guides and birds for a long time now. I did notice some errors in your guide you may want to address though. One would be that in your discussion you advised someone to use vomp carrots on a chick, I believe that under many birds and many circumstances it has been found that feeding carrots to babies does not actually increase any stats, but merely affection from the food, so the extra money spent on paste is well worth it. Also I have found that after feeding my bird a strict diet of celerity salad (despite the other guide saying it does) discernment has never had a proven stat raise. Also I have had luck feeding an adult bird up to 4 carrots without it getting a stomach ache as well. The plans such as taking them on walks and random chitchat are also something that has been proven to raise stats on endurance and discernment, so you may want to add a section on those^^ I have also personally confirmed that cupid worms will not lower any stats at all if fed to your bird while it has "high energy." Chocolixirs also offer a significant raise to affection and allow you to use your plans that manually raise affection and stats like long walks as well. Good luck on your guide and birds. Let me know if you have any questions or contradictions.

Also, the reason I posted that stuff in the Chocobo section because you didn't state any where that what you found was "speculation". You posted it, without adding any kind of disclaimer that it was just speculation, which is what spurred you to do the work.

And for the record, my original plan was to raise several chocobo's. Thankfully, however, my chocobo ended up becoming the only colour that you said it wouldn't be, so it was actually you who destroyed your own theory.

You also said that black was the rarest colour. I think you would find the Vana'Diel census very enlightening, as you will find that it is in fact the second most common colour.

And yes, I did try and talk to you, several times. But in your ignorance you didn't reply. Probably because you didn't have anything to say.

Well, if you read what I wrote again, you might realise that I didn't actually insult you. Obviously you are upset that your "years of work" have been for something that isn't true.

achieving 4 first-class attributes on a chocobo is not possible because of the cap. at the most, it can have 2 first-class[SSS] attribute and one average[C] spare change. there is a post on the forum about the cap @ http://forums.ffxiclop...g/viewtopic.php?t=3182.
