Hehe... nice seeing others using my template ^^
I don't have to give you the permission, it's a wiki, but nice to be credited ^^... --Faenwulf 04:09, 20 Feb 2006 (PST)
- No need to thanks ^^;; I'm working on a new template for a better overview. You can have the raw, when it's ready ^^ --Faenwulf 12:29, 20 Feb 2006 (PST)
ADV
1 That was all it took, now I do know.
Well I tried to make it clear that what I do is not for everyone. Seriously. In fact, I probably don't even recomend trying it without assurances that everyone will be ok. But one thing that caught me at the end of what you wrote made me want to say I wish everyone was more considerate of the White Mage. When I had my flag up with Red Mage as a sub one guy invited me and kept screaming "{Heal!}" to me over and over again like I don't know how to do my job, or when people tell me "Buffs". That's what agrivates me. --Zero 16:47, 20 Feb 2006 (PST)
Item Template
Here is the current Item Template Please use this when updating or making pages, I fixed the Noble's Crown page, you can go to History Tab above and view the changes I made to make it formatted to the Item Template so you in the future can do the same. I hope that helps. --Nynaeve 10:35, 4 July 2006 (PDT)
It really doesn't. The template seemed to leave Template-esque code. You edited it so that it looks like how I was TRYING to make it look. What was with all the code? I don't know, I tried to figure it out, but it doesn't exactly say what to write if the section isn't applicable (i.e. used in recipes, etc.). Also, the desynthesis recipe is not "unknown" -- there IS none. --Chacharu 11:43, 4 July 2006 (PDT)
I wasn't sure if the Desynthesis Recipe was None considering that Somepage and Alla have a way of not being complete, therefor until someone with the proper skill trys to Desynth it with a Fire, Lightning & Wind crystal and therefor proves that it can not be Desynthed, I prefer to put Unknown. Just cuz Somepage or Alla don't list it, doesn't mean it doesnt exists. They just recently discover the Noct Gloves Desynth Recipe so what does that say about other things?
Now about the Template. I don't want you to stop trying, at the beginning it can seem really hard. Means an Internal Link... Is another Template within this template. Such as Resist Fire to get
. When you see <Craft type> when you hit Edit and copy and paste that to whatever page you are editing, what in fact you are putting in there is <Craft type> (Skill cap). It looks different when you hit edit, but its a Template that simplifies what you have to write in. So instead of having to write all that - all you have to plug into that is the Craft Type aka Woodworking or Leathercraft where it says <Craft Type> and the Skill Cap between the ( ).
And the Crystal Templates are Similar, now they are really easy to deal with in comparion to the old ones. The Template shows them as: Template:XXX and when you hit Edit it will read like this XXX Crystal. Now all YOU have to do is add in whatever Crystal is used in the Recipe where the XXX's are. But since I want you to understand the Code, the following should help you understand it. What this code right here is allowing is for one, it to link to whatever Crystal Page it is, hence this part right here which if it was Wind Crystal for example it would link it to the Wind Crystal Page. Now notice this isn't colored, that is what the second part (and the Template) is for: |XXX Crystal is allowing it to have the proper Color while showing us the proper name for what we want to put there. For example it makes Wind Crystal now into Wind Crystal. The Template for the color of Wind is called Wind, so that is what we put in there. We could just do Wind but while it would Link to Wind Crystal, it wouldn't say Wind Crystal when we looked at it, it would just say what the Wind Template itself says when nothing is programed in. Hence why we need to have it Wind Crystal to look like Wind Crystal. But as you can see the Template alone doesn't link it to anything so we do in fact need it too read: Wind Crystal to be linked, in color, and reading whatever we want it to be.
Okay, I have to admit, the logic behind sounds complicated, but all you have to do is fill in what the Crystal is in the XXX parts. It sounded like you wanted to understand the reasoning behind the Templates, so I hope this helps. It does make it a lot easier to edit and also, if we as a groupd ever wanted to change say the color of Wind for example, everything using this template would change the second that the actual template would change so we would be able to change the color on all those pages with just changing the Template. Nifty isn't it?
If anything else confuses you that doesn't have an answer or response on my User Talk:Nynaeve page feel free to ask i will add something on there and on here for you. --Nynaeve 13:53, 4 July 2006 (PDT)
I completely understand. I didn't realize how much freaking structure it had till I tried to type it all out to you. I was like OMG... this is taking me forever to type... No wonder he was confused. lol. I just didn't want you to stop trying. I know how it is to be fustrated by something. As I said before if you have any more questions that my new section on my talk page can not answer or you need clarified feel free to ask and I will help. I really don't have problems helping people. ^^ --Nynaeve 14:02, 4 July 2006 (PDT)

Seriously. Terance
Spelling
As I have stated several times I am horible at spelling. People here have acknoledged that and understand that. Several users, Pinkfae and Nynaeve edit my additions on a regular basis. I have stated that if my spelling was a problem I could leave they said that it was ok as this is a large open editing forum so people will correct my spelling for me. I don't try to be horible at it, I just am. This is why I'm not in English in university. I'm a math major, spelling isn't that big of a deal for me. You are more then welcome to edit my spelling as well, you don't have to wait for others to do it. Ferine 18:28, 20 September 2006 (EDT)
Well, Pinkfae loves hacking at other people's stuff, so I'm not surprised. I'm waiting on *you* to correct it. When it comes to pages that other people are going to rely on, I edit my own spelling. I'm not going to spend an extra thirty minutes a day cleaning up after you. :D Make it messy if you want to. It's quite a moot point to me now. --Chacharu 17:26, 21 September 2006 (EDT)
Ferine is right, while yes his spelling and grammar is atrocious (don't just limit it to spelling... lol), we have acknowledged that already and still appreciate all the editing he does on the Chocobo Guide and elsewhere. I have a brother who is like this and no amount of schooling can help some people but they still have a right to get their ideas and thoughts across. I try to correct his spelling and grammer when I come across it but I admit, I don't look over the Choco Guides as much as I should.
If you want, I will start doing that so I can correct his errors, otherwise you can fix them for him. Spelling and Grammar is important here and in normal circumstances I would ream someone a new one because that is just what I do with incompetence and such, but I have talked to him before and I recognize that it isn't his strong suit but the information he is trying to convey is helpful due to the current lack of information on the topic as a whole. If either you or him point me to newly edited pages that might happen to contain errors I can go through them. I'm sorry it seems unreadable to you I will try to think of some way other than this to handle it as well. --Nynaeve 08:56, 21 September 2006 (EDT)
Edit:: User talk:Ferine -- I might have come up with something if he can do this it might cut down on some of the errors and dissension. --Nynaeve 09:11, 21 September 2006 (EDT)
Edit#2: I also noticed some spelling errors on your user page... Might want to fix that. --Nynaeve 09:13, 21 September 2006 (EDT)
Offending text in userpage corrected.
No I didn't even see that one, I just saw leveling spelled Levelling even... It just amused me so I pointed it out. =) So No, no scouring... Just glanced at it since I was interested in reading it. --Nynaeve 17:01, 21 September 2006 (EDT)
Haha, I know. I for some ungodly reason have a tendency to spell it grammer first then I go back and fix it to grammar... I find it ironic that one of the few words I have trouble with is one that is usually linked with spelling.. notice it only took me a minute or so to fix it here when I made it originally... but yeah - for some reason my brain doesn't like using an A and puts an E instead... drives me nuts... --Nynaeve 18:53, 21 September 2006 (EDT)
