Valkurm Emperor

OverGryph here. Wanted to point out that the recent update I made to the Valkurm Emperor page is 100% correct and doesn't require to be moved to the talk page. I stated that a 5 minute respawn would take 2 hours 7 minutes in Vana'diel time, which is a true statement. I applied my theories and testing on the talk page like you asked. I apologize about reposting the same information after it had been deleted. I thought a normal user might have been having a war with the page at the time or something.

Delisting drops in BCNMs

At what point would you say it is ok to remove items as possible drops from BCNMs? e.g. can I remove (presumably "common") items if they reach 0/100? 0/150? 0/200? --Jawat 21:57, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

Well for BCNMs, take Under Observation for instance, there are two different kinds of cheap logs that are 0/100, presumably these would have about the same drop rate as other common items like the cheap scrolls, rocks, or gems. Or the Himmel Stock, which would presumable have about the same drop rate as the other cheap weapons. Also, if there seems to be a definite pattern to what items are in all the groupings, and the 0/xxx items dont find into this pattern anywhere, would that allow for desisting them at a lower limit? I do think that 500 is a bit high for these types of items, especially given the number of BCNMs, the limit on how many you can do them due to limited BS/KS, and the infrequency of people actually updating them. But if you're firm with those numbers, i'll stick with 'em. --Jawat 18:37, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

Quiz Question

I apologize if, in fact, the correct level is 53 for recall spells. I did in fact create this question from memory, and my memory was that the scrolls were 55, hence the answer I set. And the phrasing "all teleport spells" was intended to signify all 9 spells (Mea, Dem, Holla, Yhoat, Altep, Vahzl... as well as Meriph, Jugner, and Pashh). Policy Template for Drop Rate Template

Would it be possible to add a Policy Template explaining the basic rules of using the drop rate template (e.g. report ALL drops, add your drop to the current tally, be sure to increase the total number of kills/whatever for all items, etc)? That way i dont have to type a new message every time i see 9/10 people violate these rules? ^^;

P.S. A answer to the 2nd part of my BCNM question would be awesome ^^;

Odd request

Both on and off the wiki, I have been accused of "trolling" the recent changes list to boost my edit count and user level. Need Testimonial Format Clarification

Jawat agin ^^;, me and Karuberu have been discussing how we're going to move testimonial data from a NM's main page to it's discussion page. We've managed to work out most of our disagreement's, but we're hung on one issue you to serve as a tie breaker ^^;;.
What we can't seem to reach an agreement on is the length of and type of data that belongs on the main page. I believe that it should be as abstract and generalized as possible (e.g. "Killable by: 6 level 60 characters; 3 level 75 characters"), and should optimally only take up 1 line, 2-lines maximum (on a 1280 x 1024 resolution)

Karuberu believes it should should contain a bit more specific data (e.g. up to 4 specific soloable jobs, duoable jobs that are consistent ( i.e. always have a NIN tank) or are pairs of the same job, and short recommendations for a tank/strategy) and should be allowed a maximum of 4 lines (on a 1280 x 1024 resolution)

(I do hope I represented your views well enough Karuberu, if not feel free to chime in and correct me)

So please, tell us what data you think should be on the main page, and what the optimal/maximum length should be, and whatever you decide upon is what we'll abide by ^^. For more specific details about what our disagreements are about, please refer to both our talk pages ^^.

Karuberu has stated on my talk page that he no longer cares what was discussed on the talk page, and intends to do it how he sees fit, whether it conforms to what was discussed or not, and despite his previous agreement to follow whatever guidelines you set. Drop Rate Assistance

There is a user that is going around and "updating" all drop rates for items. Problem is, he's doing more harm than good. The new drop rate policy asks for users to update all items for a mob instead of just the popular items. This user is blindly following this rule and updating ALL drops so drop denominators are all the same number for all items that mob drops. Problem with this is that said user is assuming all items with 0/?, giving a low percentage drop rate. If you need more evidence of what I'm talking about, please check out Novv the Whitehearted where I have undone an edit and mentioned it on the talk page. Please let me know how I can go about fixing this, as drop rate percentages are very important to casual browsers of FFXIclopedia. Thanks. --Neowrath 05:22, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

German Regionpages (zone pages)

There's a problem with the german translation I can't get fixed. In german zonepages it isn't possible to jump to section "Angeln" (=="Fishing") by clicking on the appropriate icon in the "Hobbies"-Section in the upper-right box "Informationen über die Region" (== Zone Infobox), same goes for "Graben" (== "Digging"). I can't find any mistake in my translated templates... perhaps you've a clue what's missing/wrong? If you've any additional question checking this problem feel free to ask me (if it's for some words you're not understanding because of german for example). Campaign Battles Redirect

Alright fun times, and I've no better place to discuss it. The page 'Campaign Battles' was deleted as an 'unnecessary redirect', but if you attempt to create a [(Category:Campaign Battles|Campaign Batte]] link to redirect, the text completely disappears (Unbroken demonstration between squiggles: ~Campaign Batte~), as if the inclusive colon breaks the coding or something. Is this fixable by some other means, or can the Campaign Battles redirect page to Category:Campaign Battles be recreated? --Ranzear 00:41, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

Armor Sets

Yeah, the First Lieutenant Assault missions have some rare/ex armor sets that the treasure chest can grant. The sets are only 2 pieces each, and currently they're grouped together as the [[Bowman's Jerkin Set]], [[Carline Set]], [[Breeder Armor Set]], [[Caballero Attire Set]], [[Vampiric Attire Set]], and the [[Barbarossa's Zerehs]] and [[Barbarossa's Moufles]] haven't been grouped on a set page yet. I'd like to get these 6 sets into a uniform naming like <name> Armor Set or something, and then I'll add them to the /Armor Sets/Assault Armor page next to Askar, Yigit, etc. --Ahkvan 06:29, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

Yes, the 5 sets are found from FL Assault missions in the ??? items. Barbarossa's legs and hands come from Targeting the Captain, and you're right they cannot be a set since they don't even look similar. We can leave them out. And just for clarification, this is the page I intend to list the sites on after the set names have been standardized. --Ahkvan 08:07, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
