Dragon Wyverns

Well, I just put that there because beastmen's wyverns have been classified under Category:Wyverns for as long as I can remember. I didn't want to bother nominate to divide the 2 because DRG wyverns are pet-only, and other pet-only/mostly monsters (avatars & automatons) have incosistent special abilities between types, but I guess that doesn't matter since they're special. So, should we divide the wyvern category? What would we name them, though? "Category:Dragoon Wyverns" sounds weird, but, whatever. Maybe "Category:Wyverns" for the baby (?) type and "Category:Vouivres" for the adult (?) wyverns? I'm thinking those should be called that because of the Demon pets Kindred's Vouivre/Andras's Vouivre. --Jopasopa 22:09, 26 January 2007 (EST)

Huh? I don't quite get what you are saying. I know that the wiki classifies mobs by ability, hence why we settled on Movalpolos Goblins being classified as Moblins. What I am suggesting now is that we take the dragoon wyverns, such as Mamool Ja's Wyverns, out of Category:Wyverns, which focuses on adult wyverns. The only reason I linked it to a category was because that category included dragoon wyverns, and it has for a while, but now I like the idea of dividing the 2 instead. Of course I'm tired right now, so I'll reread what you typed tomorrow. >_> --Jopasopa 23:01, 26 January 2007 (EST)

Re: Mispelling Page Names

Thanks for giving me this information. ^.^" I'll make sure I get everything right. And yeah^.^ Thanks again.

Thank you for providing me with a lot of good information about how I can help out around here without messing things up. :)--Stine 15:28, 18 February 2007 (EST)

Protected Pages

Thanks for the clarification. Truth be told I didn't have anything to contribute (at the time) to the Getting Started guide, but I was looking at the Protected Pages page and saw that guide listed there, and it definitely appeared out of place with respect to the other items that were listed there.

Also, I thought that protecting a page only prevented non-admins from editing, so that was a misunderstanding on my part. -- Divisortheory 22:32 21 February 2007 (EST)

I've noticed the Special:Recentchanges page has an unclosed underline or emphasis tag, as all text on the page is underlined while others are not. Not sure if you or a main admin has the power to fix this.--Charitwo 00:15, 23 February 2007 (EST)

AH nav box

Hope you don't mind I started populating these. Not trying to steal any ideas or anything, it is just way too pretty to not iomplement. It's also highlighting to me where we have some areas for article/category consolidation. --Gahoo 13:48, 27 February 2007 (EST)

/sigh. Funny how I've gone from the guy who used to do everything without asking, to the only one who discusses things before doing them. Could you at least keep me informed of things like these so I can put in my 2 cents before they're implemented? I also recommend that we create a Template:Sandbox page for testing of new templates without the need to create a new page for each one. ~ Karuberu 23:59, 3 April 2007 (EDT)

I see that you discussed it, I just kind of feel out-of-the-loop is all. I put my suggestion on the template's talk page: it's sort of incomplete, but it takes greater advantage of the template abilities and looks closer to the way the pages already look. ~ Karuberu 00:18, 4 April 2007 (EDT)

Plague

On your post about Plague you put in my talk, the term 'ebbs' I didn't even really know what that means (I've never heard that term before), which is why I did use the word 'drain' in place of it, but you have a point too about how drain is thought of in game. Maybe use something like 'slowly removes power' or something? Any better wording that you can think of? --Wayka 14:18, 28 February 2007 (EST)

Ok I updated it to say: Plague is a harmful status effect that slowly ebbs power from a player until it wears off or is removed. Afflicted characters lose TP and MP slowly, similarly to how poison effects HP. just a minor update on the wording on what the comparison to poison meant. Does that wording sound good? --Wayka 14:25, 28 February 2007 (EST)

About Time

I was going to add some images and diagrams that I'm working on ^^ --Poof 03:07, 1 March 2007 (EST)

Slystix Megapeepers

Yes I did try to upload the image of it but for some reason when I did upload it, the image didn't appear, some sort of error. I tried it 3x, resaving the jpg using different programs, and it still didn't work. I'm not sure why it didn't show up, maybe something tagged in the image wiki didn't like, so I did throw a delete tag on it anyway. I'll try to get a new version of the mob image sometime. --Wayka 23:42, 2 March 2007 (EST)

I saw you posted on my template dispute and was wondering how to proceed. Should I or someone else remove the "Delete" Tag? Thanks for your help in this manner and look forward to more additions! --Dru 19:00, 5 March 2007 (EST)

Armor Sets

I think you lost me on what you were trying to explain in your message. ^^; Could you please elaborate. Thank you. --Amujaahideen

About new Armor Sets

You are right, sorry about that. I was just working from an old template I had saved that happened to include this line. Should I change the set names to "Askar Korazin Set" and "Denali Jacket Set" until we know more about storage? --Eithin 15:18, 7 March 2007 (EST)

Teleport rings

Hey can you archive or delete all the discussions about request to move the teleport rings at Talk:Holla Ring Talk:Dem Ring Talk:Mea Ring Talk:Yhoat Ring Talk:Altep Ring Talk:Vahzl Ring since they are no longer needed. I did what I discussed in Talk:Holla Ring and created pages like Teleport Ring: Holla and had them redirect to the original page so they can also be searched as they are listed on the AH image to eliminate confusion. The talk pages about them are no longer needed. Thanks! --Wayka 21:28, 9 March 2007 (EST)

Sorry about the talk pages and making you work hard, however that still took a really long time to go through all those. But it's for the better. --Charitwo 16:02, 10 March 2007 (EST)

Recent Userpage Edit

But it doesn't exist anymore. --Charitwo 20:54, 12 March 2007 (EDT)

I apologize if you got upset over this, however if I may suggest, instead of keeping the broken User page link, you could perhaps replace it with Nynaeve's Contributions or something of the like. Sorry for the misunderstanding. --Charitwo 11:12, 13 March 2007 (EDT)

Deleting Redirects

I think I did, didn't I? The redirect was created specifically for the purposes of the "Deleveling" page, but I corrected that to go to the redirect target, then deleted the redirect. If it was just a "something to watch out for", then roger ;-) --Divisortheory 14:44, 14 March 2007 (EDT)

You went to "What Links Here" from which page? After I deleted the redirect, there is no "What Links Here" page for that anymore is there? --Divisortheory 14:48, 14 March 2007 (EDT)

It's the same difference. --Charitwo 17:22, 15 March 2007 (EDT)

O_o

That is really gaudy lol, but ok. --Charitwo 18:30, 15 March 2007 (EDT)

What links here for "Lottery spawn"

I managed to get a good deal of them, and they are the last of what needs to be fixed in the deletion queue, but there's a little less than 50 left. If I don't get to them before you do when I wake up tomorrow, thanks in advance. --Charitwo 20:48, 15 March 2007 (EDT)

Slang terms

I just was browsing the Category:Terminology area, and I found quite a few terms there which I think would be considered slang terminology rather than actual game terminology. There were a couple I marked for deletion already, but before I go mark a bunch that I think should be deleted, I wanted to get your opinion first on this. Example I marked Ghetto Warp because it is definitely not a term used by SE, and is an in game slang which is already described in the Final Fantasy XI Dictionary of Terms and Slang page. I also marked HELM because to my knowledge I've never heard it before and I think it should also go in the Final Fantasy XI Dictionary of Terms and Slang instead. What do you think on these? --Wayka 13:45, 25 March 2007 (EDT)

Vilma

In RE: this discussion I don't see the probability of a mob higher on the hierarchy chain of Rose Garden that has a very similar name to Voluptuous Vivian that drops the same item. If anything I would consider the original claim spam, but to be fair make another check of the DAT files and put a {{verification}} tag on ""Voluptuous Vilma"" and on the Vilma's Ring page until somebody can come up with evidence to support it. Anybody could have inserted Voluptuous Vilma into that text file, that's no proof. --Charitwo 13:19, 27 March 2007 (EDT)

Broken links

Was just browsing through FFXIclopedia:Naming Conventions article and there seem to be some broken links for articles with FFXIclopedia:xxxx in the name. --Wayka 17:05, 28 March 2007 (EDT)

Apocalyptic Beast

What I was referring to this morning is that a JP friend of mine, one of his LS members works for Square-Enix Japan. He said that Apocalyptic Beast has exactly a 10% chance of dropping 4x HQ Ancient Currency and exactly 90% chance of dropping nothing at all. I was wondering if that is enough verification to justify the claim to add it to the article. --Charitwo 14:11, 29 March 2007 (EDT)

That's the thing, he works for SE-Japan. Which is why I inquired. I know they are secretive about how things work, but apparently he shares information with those in his LS. --Charitwo 15:22, 29 March 2007 (EDT)

I'll ask him myself directly, but for now, can I add it to the article with {{verification}}? --Charitwo 15:25, 29 March 2007 (EDT)

Proposal to add other language names

I wanted to see what you thought about adding other language names to the item and weapon/armor pages. For example, the item Optical Hat, the French name is "Chapeau Optique", German name is (unknown - I have not yet found the string tables for German yet), and Japanese name is "オプチカルハット". I was thinking of putting it in table form to go at the bottom of the pages. The reason for this suggestion is for our German and French players that use those versions of the language but would like to use this site. Putting the alternate names on the item pages will make it be able to be found by searching for the German or French title and it will pull up the stats on the English item page. This would not to be used to create new pages with the other titles, all created titles will be the English titles. The extra names would be used as a reference for search purposes.

Let me know what you would think about this idea. I know it would take a long time to add these to all of the pages, but over some time I think it will be an excellent plan. What I would ask of you is to create a table of appropriate colors of 3 columns and two rows. First row saying "French-German-Japanese" in one color and the second row to use for those names in another color. Please let me know and I'll do a couple examples to see how it works out (and as soon as I find the German tables in the DATs). --Wayka 17:33, 29 March 2007 (EDT)

Image:Spartoi Sorcerer.jpg

Can you please revert to the older version of Spartoi Sorcerer.jpg The uploader forgot to make it a thumbnail to make it the proper size. The original is a much better version. --Charitwo 20:22, 29 March 2007 (EDT)

Merlyn

Just my opinion, but if I was in your position I would just ignore it. I mean, it doesn't really do much good do "act on it" unless it happens again or something. It's one thing to ask a simple question, but their message was hardly derisive. "-.- or -_-" usually means annoyance or a lack of patience. Which means she doesn't like the idea that you are an admin based on your level, but like you said it has absolutely nothing to do with your qualifications. Anybody can browse through your contributions and see that. Reverting it was a good call, but leaving it at that is the best call. If it happens again obviously something needs to be done, but otherwise I wouldn't bother. Just keep up the good work, don't let 1 person out of an entire wikibase full of editors bother you. :) --Charitwo 11:56, 31 March 2007 (EDT)

Quest Redirects

I put the move template on most of them - I left my page with the correct spellings so I don't have to change them later - as requested. You're welcome. --Nynaeve 22:16, 4 April 2007 (EDT)

Yagudo Discipilnant

Sorry the image wasn't clear enough, one can only do that zone every so often and I had a very small window to get a shot of it before everybody rushed in and attacked it. Might be 2-3 weeks before our LS does it again so I can try and get a better quality. But I am absolutely certain the spelling was that way. --Charitwo 15:19, 5 April 2007 (EDT)

I saw it was moved, just making the note here that I'll get a better image when I get the chance because I didn't want to post in the archived discussion. --Charitwo 15:22, 5 April 2007 (EDT)

Monster Notes

I recently noticed on many pages of the site, the "monster notes" section on many of them have an old template set up on them with the monster notes manually entered in each page. This however is outdated, and it has some unnecessary stats such as "Detects Resting". If you see my recent contributions, you will see how I went and updated all the Category:Areas pages with the {{Monster Notes}} tag, however there are thousands of monster pages with the old format. (Search for "Detects Resting" to see all the results I am talking about.) I was wondering if there is an easy way to update all of these manually typed sections with the monster notes template tag if admin has a way to do that. Otherwise it will probably take a long time to update every last page if it had to be done manually. If it has to be done manually, I may take some time out every day to update a bunch but it will take a long time. --Wayka 18:43, 7 April 2007 (EDT)

Hey, I got your PM about the guide, if you could rename it as "Alporhan's Manaburn Guide" it would be a huge help. Thanks :O

Possible vandalism accounts

Please check out the contribution history of the following accounts: User:HpvV17, User:ZzkA7c, and User:Zg2Pe4. These have made rather minor changes on some pages but they seem like minor vandalism, and the usernames all have an odd and similar format. I have reverted some edits they have made to a user's page and to a template page, you reverted one also. Possibly same IP? --Wayka 08:50, 11 April 2007 (EDT)

Dynamis Consistency

In order to maintain consistency among all the Dynamis mob pages, listing specific drops on specific mobs pages is not necessary. RE: Question about unused images

Sorry, I messed up when I uploaded the new ones, I should have deleted the older ones >.<

Talk:Plague

What you added to my little tower of elements and ailments in Talk:Plague was incorrect I believe. Should've just made a new sentence or something if you weren't sure. While I know you had good intentions (and usually when people make charts and stuff in talk pages they usually allow other people to edit, although I will try to mention if I would like others to edit the info. when it's not obvious whether I intend for others to actually edit the content), I just figured I'd let you know. Since that was relatively useless (what I just typed), I'll add some requested moves: Goblinsavior Heronox (enough proof has been given to move her page, I would say) and [[The Egg Hunt Egg-stravaganza!]] (up for debate). --Joped 11:39, 16 April 2007 (EDT)

EDIT: Just to make sure anyone reading this knows, one can edit my charts and paragraphs/whatever (even on my userpages; although asking me whether it was intentional or not would be nice) format-wise (and spelling/grammar) and content-wise (only if there is 100% misinformation on it that deserves to be burned). --Joped 11:45, 16 April 2007 (EDT)

They're the Elemental wheel thingy NPCs. I only know of the Windy one: Taru male near 3 other Taru outside of the Orastery at the port. He's easy to spot since he wears a different cloak. --Joped 11:48, 16 April 2007 (EDT)

Also, at least for the Windy one, you have to inquire further about the relationship between the prime elements and your health in order for them to mention the element/ailment associations. --Joped 12:36, 16 April 2007 (EDT)

DAT

I went through them, most of them set for removal were true, Gordius I noticed still is still in there, even though it may still may not be in use so would be more appropriate with the {{datfilesonly}} tag. --Wayka 08:54, 17 April 2007 (EDT)
