Slang Dictionary

I'm liking the work you're putting into making the slang dictionary more concise and clear, looking a lot better. --CharitwoTalk 17:53, 19 June 2007 (CDT)

Partying

It's good practice here to replace he, she, her, his, him, etc to more gender neutral words like their, etc. As far as BRD as main healer, it doesn't work in all levels but depending on setup, situation, and level(mainly 70+) it works quite well. --CharitwoTalk 19:05, 19 June 2007 (CDT)

Changes by Ctownwoody: Hi, didn't know how to really put this into the discussion section, but the problem is that I cannot get your version of the guide to format in a readable fashion (column width and location, esp), but previous version seem formatted perfectly. --Ctownwoody 23:25, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

Username Conflict

The way you edited the move page was unnecessary (wording and other things). It looks like both Eithen and you have notified User:TOR about the issue. Please give TOR time to look into it and fix it. --ЩåΫķẮ †Talk† 12:10, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

Your contribution issue appears to be fixed. --CharitwoTalk 21:04, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

It's easier to communicate with the Wikia staff and tech people on their IRC server, it's where I talk with them on a daily basis. --CharitwoTalk 02:32, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

Copyright Issues

POL info. --GAHOO t/ c 20:21, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

In reverse order, in theory, SE could require us to pull off all the images if it choose to assert Copyright infringement. But in reality it won't. Under our General Disclaimer, we have asserted SE's ownership of the copyrights. Under the GDFL, use of any of these images could only be used subject to SE's copyright. Thus, we are using them subject to SE's copyright and our use is authorized.

As for the originality and creativity issue, it is a little more complex than you have allowed in your question. Everything related to that image was provided by SE. From the monster and the scenery, to the angle, lighting and such. Heck, even the individual characters are SE property, not the individuals. Nothing in or about those images belongs to anybody other than SE. Our use of those items are subject to the license granted by SE to use them. Thus, it is impossible for someone other than SE to assert a copyright ownership in any image from the game. --FFXI-Mierin Talk / Contrib 20:24, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

Scholar and Elmer the Pointy's translation

Copyright issues can be address fastest by following the right procedure. Please see FFXIclopedia:Copyrights and contact User:FFXI-Mierin who handles these concerns if you believe there are any issues regarding copyright infringement. Thank you. --Chrisjander t/ c 12:58, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

You can check the history and ask the person who added the content in question, or you could ask on the forums from which you suspect they have been taken. --Chrisjander t/ c 13:09, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

Found the poster, the issue has been addressed. Thank you. --Chrisjander t/ c 21:44, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
