Assault Cleanup
Sounds like a great project! Good luck. --GAHOO t/ c 07:47, 9 June 2007 (CDT)
- Sandbox looks good. Can't wait to see these pages revamped/standardized. --GAHOO t/ c 09:32, 11 June 2007 (CDT)
- Take a look at the change I made to the clensing page. I moved the mission order to the top section. Seemed like it fit best up there with all of the information down below. You can revert it if you disagree. Otherwise I think it looks great.
- Maybe just have the walkthrough section and then a notes section? --GAHOO t/ c 10:27, 12 June 2007 (CDT)
- Walkthrough/notes/strategy all mean the same thing. Only need one.--Meara 08:15, 13 June 2007 (CDT)
- I disagree. I think "Walkthrough" to me dictates what you do to complete the mission (i.e. where to go, what to do). "Notes" are more of asides, something is soloable, something links, consider a pet job to kite something. "Strategy" should be on subpages and are first-person accounts of how something was beaten (manaburn, 4 pups and a drg, etc.). I thinkthe template should have a Walkthrough section and Notes section, with a link to a /Strategy section. --GAHOO t/ c 08:22, 13 June 2007 (CDT)

Your Suggestions
Thank you for the input, I'm thinking of using NOToc and making a handmade ToC because of how long it is
- I've seen penta get a few 19 TP returns, nice hitting for 1.7k without use of spirit surge or anything lol, I'll note that it can go off multiple times, but it's rare that it will.
- Like I said, if you *need* focus you probably have problems with your gear. But Any Melee DD From 1-30 Is good as /MNK because Boost is the only Damage boost you really get at those levels.
- I have never hit decent Raiden numbers, but obviously my experience differs from yours, I'll make a note that on some mobs (Such as HIGH DEF/ Things with a weakness to lightning) Raiden can be useful, but generally double thrust will outperform it.
- As for leg sweep, I'll reword it. I've used it on very rare occasions, i also used it for breaking the latent on my Spear for impulse in a skillup (couple seconds of the mob not hitting our sam "tank") --Sharaa 14:55, 21 June 2007 (CDT)
Promotion
You have recently been "promoted" to Patroller. With this comes two special powers. The first is the ability to protect and unprotect pages, as well as edit protected pages. In addition, you have the ability to patrol edits. If you have any questions, please ask me. --User:Mierin/Sig 08:49, 27 June 2007 (CDT)
- No problem. The Administrators created this new group to recognize a few editors we feel have gone over and above what normal editors do and help us keep the wiki a great site. These users are routinely patrolling new edits and as well as old and out of date material and improving it or culling it out. The powers we have given them are intended to make it easier for them to do this. --User:Mierin/Sig 15:11, 27 June 2007 (CDT)
Categories
FYI, the {{AH}} template automatically places items into the respective category. --CharitwoTalk 11:39, 5 July 2007 (CDT)
Anything that that isn't found in the Auction House needs the duplicate category inclusion removed. Nothing to start a project over, I just fix em as I find em. For example:
{{AH}} means you can trade and bazaar it, but cannot sell it on the AH (needs categories)
{{AH|Exclusive}} basically is rare/ex, cannot auction trade or bazaar. (needs categories)
{{AH|Weapons|Swords}} will designate it into the Category:Weapons and Category:Swords
And obviously it goes right under How to Obtain. --CharitwoTalk 17:32, 5 July 2007 (CDT)
DRG Guide
It's pretty much done, just fixing up some spelling/grammar. Said you looked forward to reading the finished product, well it's pretty much done now, most of the edits will be nitpick things :P Posted it on the forums so people can look it over there before I call it completely done. --Sharaa 02:13, 11 July 2007 (CDT)
Food Templates
Not sure how you're going about formatting, random page? Anyway if you come across food items with effects listed, or missing effects, you can use the color template in place of the elemental ones now. See Food Template as a reference. --CharitwoTalk 11:25, 21 July 2007 (CDT)
AH Templates
While you're checking those, can you also make sure the Other Uses section is set as well? I'm working on those as well as updating the table formatting in the How to Obtain section if necessary. Remember to distinguish whether items can be synthesized or not and from that, make sure that if Guild Points Template is updated right too. :) Thanks ~ Goddess ~ TalkContrib 11:52, 1 August 2007 (CDT)
Ahhh I missed that part. Oh well. Thanks! :) ~ Goddess ~ TalkContrib 12:01, 1 August 2007 (CDT)
Images
Yeah, I've been doing that as the same time as well, if the item or whatever is accessible to me. I just replaced the image itself. So far no need to resort to the tag. ^^ ~ Goddess ~ TalkContrib 12:11, 1 August 2007 (CDT)
Speedy Deletion
About ChesterJT's flame page that you put up for speedy deletion...it was really just a joke. He knows this probably ain't the right place for such jokes, but could hardly resist after Veskit ended up being "that guy" yet again. "That guy" means when you take a bunch of new people through Delkfutt's Tower for the key up top to find ambassador, that guy ends up not having talked to the embassy guy in Jeuno and can't finish the mission. That guy didn't talk to the two npc's giving you get items needed for SAM quest, and thus had to journey back to Kazham, yet again. Basically, if you're taking a group of relatively new people through a lengthy quest or mission, and Veskit it is the group, then at least one person will screw up. His LS pokes fun at him for this, and he takes it like a champ, cause he knows we're right. And it IS kinda funny. Anyway, just saying that there should not be any bannings or such over this "flame page" that was made. --Valle 10:25, 25 August 2007 (CDT)
- Flame pages should not be made so Techno was right. If he wants to put it on his own user page that is at his discretion but it is not necessary and a violation of policies to make a new page for it, joke or not. --ЩåΫķẮ †Talk† 11:18, 25 August 2007 (CDT)
What did I miss? Joke articles are not permitted, even if they are just jokes. Without even looking into what the article name was, I'm going to have to give Techno the benefit of the doubt. --CharitwoTalk 21:13, 25 August 2007 (CDT)
- The article is gone now, along with its history, I believe. It was your classic "I'm going to make fun of/insult this particular player by creating a wiki page about them" spam article. I marked the article for speedy deletion with the reason tag "This is spam and does not belong on the wiki.", left the vandalism template on ChesterJT's talk page, and made a report to Gahoo. After that, ChesterJT edited the SDelete reason tag to say that I had a "stick up my ass" and insinuated that he should be given leeway to do such things because he has made a couple of dozen contributions to the wiki. Wayka reverted that edit. Then, Valle sends me this message, pleading for his friend. Apparently they must think I have the power to ban users. I've directed Valle to Gahoo, the man with the real power. I doubt it's the last I'll hear about it, but I hope so. >.> --TECHNO-- Talk / Contrib 21:24, 25 August 2007 (CDT)
I checked out Special:Undelete, looks like something stupid. You were right and I'm going to guess "Valle" was a sockpuppet. And I laughed at "the man with the real power". It's good to hear that Wayka is back. --CharitwoTalk 21:28, 25 August 2007 (CDT)
- Yeah, I was just doing what they've asked me to do, patrol. As for Valle being a sock puppet, I doubt it. The account is a couple of months old with a few edits. Anyway, I'm going to go be a good guest at my parents-in-law's house now and be social. They're nice. I'd just rather be playing FFXI. =P Peace out, ya'll. --TECHNO-- Talk / Contrib 21:39, 25 August 2007 (CDT)
Formatting
Are you going through Roger's contribs too? You're saving me lots of work! :D --CharitwoTalk 22:14, 28 August 2007 (CDT)
Oh, well that's what happen when you run an automated bot without permission. It's very inconsistent, I've found it easier to open up his contribs, limit it to the Main namespace and start going through the ones that are the latest edit(ones with [rollback]) next to them. --CharitwoTalk 22:22, 28 August 2007 (CDT)
Of course, it's a never ending job. --CharitwoTalk 22:37, 28 August 2007 (CDT)
Minor thing I've noticed, make sure to watch the job lines of statistics, as some of them may be missing a forward slash on the first line as displayed in the image. --CharitwoTalk 13:04, 15 September 2007 (CDT)
Some of Roger's edits included plural-izing the category name in the statistics section (i.e. Club -> Clubs) etc. FYI --CharitwoTalk 17:22, 15 September 2007 (CDT)
Welcome tags
Hey one small request when adding the {{Welcome}} tags to new users, can you click on minor edit also when adding them? It just helps reduce the list when sorting by "hiding minor edits" since a lot of welcome pages are clumped together. It makes viewing the recent changes list easier. Thanks! --ЩåΫķẮ †Talk† 17:50, 13 September 2007 (CDT)
- It really doesn't matter when you can hit "hide patrolled edits" and do the same thing. Either way is fine. --CharitwoTalk 20:35, 13 September 2007 (CDT)
- Ah sorry didn't think of that one lol... he gets auto patrolled also. --ЩåΫķẮ †Talk† 20:44, 13 September 2007 (CDT)
AH Template
Yeah, actually I was removing the extra, unnecessary categories from the top. After I edited the Other Uses section on the Ebony Pole, I checked to see if the rest of the page was properly formatted and noticed it had the extra categories and removed them. At least I'm pretty sure I did. Just checked again now, but I've been known to make mistakes before. ;-) --Tinuvael 22:52, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
Hehe, don't worry about it! You edit so many pages I'm sure all the text runs together by now. I did something very similar to Gahoo once... >.>; --Tinuvael 00:08, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
FYI
Heads up you may want to update your signature and/or recreate it under your new userspace, it appears Tinuvael got confused by your old sig and placed his message on the old talk page by mistake. --CharitwoTalk 23:04, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
New Projects
Hey! Haven't seen you edit in a bit, and was wondering if you were interested in a fact finding project. We seem to be missing some important info in the wiki, and it seems it has been overlooked for quite some time. Send me a reply if you're interested in hearing more. --◄Chrisjander► t/ c 03:25, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
Heh, I can see how that would be confusing. We were actually talking about it on the Forums when I suggested categories for NPCs, separating them by race. Gahoo took this as an opportunity to implement his template (which was old, but hadn't been touched in a bit) so we spruced it up and implemented it (and made it so the template links to the aforementioned race categories). But we do talk about it publicly, I just don't know if you peruse the forums as often as we do (at least the FFXIclopedia/editor one).
Aaaanyway, the project. This came up as we were formatting up all the NCPs. The problem is with one zone: Windurst Waters. Dunno what nation you play for, or if you're familiar with the area, but this zone is so big it has two maps, an upper/northern map and a lower/southern map. However, neither the Windurst Waters page itself, nor most of the NPC pages define whether the positions of the NPCs are from the northern map or the southern (a few NPC pages do, but a small number). We need someone to check all the NPCs in Windurst Waters, north and south, and find out which NPCs are on which maps, and then update the NPC pages and the zone page accordingly. Interested? --◄Chrisjander► t/ c 18:09, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
- We're around. It has been a busy time to say the least. Transition to wikia. Dealing with being hacked. Fan Festival arrangements. Not to mention that RL for at least Gani and me has been extremely hectic over past month or two. We haven't gone anywhere or abandoned ship - just trying to stay afloat. --GAHOO t/ c 18:37, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
- EDIT: And I've been trying to hold my own on the edits :) --GAHOO t/ c 18:41, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
- Also, Gani and I have never been quite the editors that Gahoo, CJ and Charitwo have been. We handle more of the administrative stuff. Mostly I just monitor edits to make sure they are copesetic. We leave the template and standardization to those three. And every so often I take a mini-project on myself. Right now, I am in the process of adding the access requirements to all the area pages. It's a small project that keeps me busy. --FFXI-Mierin Talk / Contrib 19:02, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
Cool, I filled in a couple of NPCs that I knew for sure were in the north (the cooking guild NPCs, etc), but most of them I had no clue. Good luck ^^ --◄Chrisjander► t/ c 20:23, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
Added feature
Patrollers should now have the ability to utilize multiple upload which can be accessed at the bottom of special pages. Thanks! --Charibot 06:39, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
Zone Revamps
Thanks for the help! They look great. --GAHOO t/ c 21:10, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
FFXI -
Did I ask you if you wanted to have your FFXI- prefix removed? I forget. Either merge with User:Techno (if you own that nick), a variant of Techno (can include punctuation or spaces), or something else. --CharitwoTalk 23:16, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
