Category:Furnishings
I was considering pasting this onto the Discussion page. What do you think? I think it comes under the category of Problem Look at this page on Firefox. Sweet page. 150 some items on one scrollable list.
16:27, 21 June 2007 Gahoo (Talk | contribs) http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/index.php?title=Category:Furnishings&oldid=281136
Now look at it with Netscape Navigator. You can see immediately something is up with the right hand border. Now scroll down. This is how the page remained for 15 weeks...
..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... 105 days
105 days, and no one using Netscape Navigator looked at this page? If this site is going to be for Firefox users only, might want to put a notice to that effect somewhere.
This is where Promethean came in. He could tell something was wrong with the page. Well, heck, -anyone- could tell...right? The A-Y list ends at C, Elemental Strength is cut in half by the edge of the screen...He couldn't know it, but having seen the Firefox version we can also tell that the Rare / Ex column is completely hidden. Still on Netscape Navigator, look at Promethean's best effort before the revert.

8000 height instead of 800. gotta start somewhere. Let's see how much more room we need to get to the bottom of the list. Hmm, not nearly that much. But we've got A-Y!
Now look at it on Firefox [this is what karuberu saw]
15 minutes into Prometheus' next half hour spent trying to improve the right hand column heading, Karuberu reverts, to...the original mistake. But it looked great on Firefox, eh? (Job well done, perfidious hackers thwarted, Karuberu leaves the page unattended for an hour)
01:15, 4 November 2007 Karuberu (Talk | contribs) m (revert; don't mess with stuff if you don't know what you're doing) http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/index.php?title=Category:Furnishings&oldid=371621
Karuberu didn't know what Promethean was doing, because he wasn't looking at the page on Netscape Navigator.
Undeterred by the half hour's work completely disappearing due to Edit Conflict, Prometheus continues working. He obviously hadn't looked at the edit history, or he would have seen: (revert; don't mess with stuff if you don't know what you're doing) Not sure what he would have made of that, to be honest. The page was wrecked, he had made it better, it was now worse again. And it seems, really that neither of them, at least, knew what the -other- was doing.
Whew! Rare / Ex is back! (Welcome Back) Rare / Ex.

Here, Karuberu finally realizes what the problem is. One would think that he can't have used Netscape to find it, or he would have seen that the problem existed before Promethean's edits. So, he just got lucky. He still doesnt know that the problem was caused by Gahoo, the head of the community, even though the evidence is right in front of him.
In the future, ask someone to fix the problem you're experiencing rather than trying to fix it yourself. Placing a comment on the article's talk page is usually enough. ~ Karuberu 02:12, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
- If you don't accept contributions, dont call it a Wiki Promethean 05:56, 7 November 2007 (UTC)Promethean
- Sorry, I worded that poorly. I meant if you don't know how to fix something, you can ask on the talk page and someone will probably fix it for you. You're free to try to fix it, but that doesn't mean someone won't come and change it if you do a poor job. That's part of the whole wiki thing. ~ Karuberu 14:14, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
By the way, whatever you tried to do to fix the page only worked at whatever resolution you're using. It was just a mess at 1280x1024. ~ Karuberu 02:15, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
Here are a few things you should know:
- There's a preview button (see above) to see what your edit will looks like before you submit it. This will also prevent people from "assassinating" your editing progress. Please use it in the future.
- I do, did, and will do. I do not appreciate the groundless insinuation. Promethean 05:56, 7 November 2007 (UTC)Promethean
- I assumed you weren't using it, because you made 13 edits that could have been done in one. Sorry if I was wrong and offended you. ~ Karuberu 14:14, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
Uh huh. I found this enlightening, thought I would share. Granted, it was a long time ago, but it shows pretty clearly that multiple edits aren't something that anyone at that time even mentioned. Certainly I wouldn't have, before the Problem. It is from the Meriphataud Mountains page History.

12 entries in 16 min. Mine was 13, before the revert, but then, my time was 1:34. --Promethean 08:56, 10 November 2007 (UTC)Promethean
- What exactly are you trying to prove? And why are you comparing your edits to Gahoo's? Coming here and trolling will lead nowhere but trouble for yourself. If you aren't here to be constructive towards the project, then why are you here? --CharitwoTalk 09:07, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
- How ironic, that I get an Edit Conflict while attempting to put in the postscript, because of yet another kneejerk. Perhaps you should read this page, Charitwo, rather than read 'Gahoo' and ass ume. Anyways, point by point: 1. Read the page. 2. Read the page. 3. I am not trolling. And inasmuch as someone who is trolling is: someone who comes to a discussion without intending to fully participate (ie not bothering to read and understand the prior discussion) and inserts irrelevant, unwanted, and baseless accusations, -you- are trolling. 4. I am, and that is why.

Now onto the regularly scheduled program.
And, btw, I want to make it absolutely crystal clear that I have -absolutely no- problem with Gahoo or anything he has done. I do have a problem with being blamed for something he did, that was a problem I tried to fix, and being blamed for something that he did, that apparently no one else but Karuberu sees as a problem worth blaming someone for. - Personal problems should be resolved on talk pages, not on article discussion pages. This is sometimes difficult, but something that should be attempted.
- When you attempt to change something at the same time as someone else, you get a "Edit Conflict" page, to allow you to revise your content based on the change. Normally, this isn't a big deal, but if someone is making a lot of successive edits, you can get this page multiple times, which can be quite annoying. That is one of the reasons why I attempted to get you to stop editing before I attempted to fix the page.
- Promethean 05:56, 7 November 2007 (UTC)Promethean
- That is a perfect example of the hypocritical arrogance and lack of consideration for others that typifies your approach to others' contributions. It -was- annoying, for me, that is what started this whole thing. Your re-editing of my work. While I was working on it.
- You looked like you were having trouble with whatever you were doing, and in the meantime, were making a mess of one of the category pages. I jumped in to help, something most people would appreciate rather than fuss about. And if you had used the Show Preview button, I wouldn't have been interrupting anything. ~ Karuberu 14:14, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
- This is a community: You can't go around editing things to your liking without the chance that someone else will come along and change it, possibly to revert your changes. If you can't deal with that, then don't edit. Being part of a community also means that you must be polite and refrain from namecalling, jumping to conclusions, and assuming that people have a bad intent. If you can't do that, then don't edit.
- There's no need to preach on a soap box. People can draw thier own conclusions if they're interested in the situation. You only make yourself look bad if you try to smear someone who is well-known on the wiki.
- Promethean 05:56, 7 November 2007 (UTC)Promethean I am not interested in support, I am interested in right and wrong. Trust me, you can not threaten me with loss of popularity.
- It's advice, not a threat. You really need to stop assuming everything is negative. ~ Karuberu 14:14, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
I took time to write this so you could become a better editor and so, hopefully, you will understand my actions better. If it's at all offensive, ignore it. That was not the intention.
- Promethean 05:56, 7 November 2007 (UTC)Promethean Whatever. You wrote it to make yourself feel better. None of your 'suggestions' were things I wasn't doing already.
If you want to respond to this, leave a message on my talk page by clicking the "+" next to "edit" at the top of the page. ~ Karuberu 04:35, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
Since you're so insistent that your changes fixed the problem, I'll show you a screenshot of your changes as viewed at 1280x1024 on Firefox ([1]) and the page before you made your changes ([2]). As you can see, it looks decent enough before your changes, and like a sloppy mess after. This is why you assume good faith when someone reverts or interrupts your editing; you can't always see the problem they're seeing. ~ Karuberu 14:23, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
- Promethean 06:16, 7 November 2007 (UTC)Promethean More hypocrisy. And more. I should assume good faith, but you can tell that all I was doing was messing it up. Seriously. I can use the History button. Can you? Try the 3rd of September, and if you can't see the problem at your resolution, then that's the problem. I didn't cause this, I was trying to fix it. At least I got Rare/Ex back on the page. Now explain why you deleted TWENTY EIGHT additions I made. And before you 'remind' me that this doesnt get sent to you, know this: I dont want a dialogue with you. This is lying in wait for you if you come to harass me again, nothing more.
- Actually, this page is on my watchlist (default for things I edit). Anyways, I assumed you were trying to do good rather than harm (I would have reported it as vandalism if I thought you were doing harm), but it was clear that you were having trouble. I'll admit, in hindsight I shouldn't have made the "revert" change, but it was still in good intent. See my "This is a community" point if you have a problem with people editing your work.
- As for the Uninvited Guests edits, some of the rewards were on my watchlist, so it grabbed my attention. I went to the quest page and went down the reward list after that. I groaned when I realized it was you who had made the changes; I was hoping that we wouldn't butt heads for a while longer, at least. Anyways, we don't include any decription for the "how to obtain" section for quest-reward items. We try to keep the page as clean and neat as possible; complete info can always be found on the linked page (similar situation to the whole Furnishings thing, I know). ~ Karuberu 14:14, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
Finally, get over yourself. You seem to think that everything you do and say is important, while you have little experience with this wiki, or, based on your edits, any wiki. You can't even sign your edits properly. You keep lying, even though the evidence is clear and against your word, and you keep acting like everything I do it to spite you. Yeah, right. This is the last time I'll explain my actions to you, since, obviously, you won't accept that I'm just trying to help the community and to help you to become a better editor. Good luck dealing with the other editors. I'm sure that pleasent personality of yours will help. ~ Karuberu 14:14, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

I warned you, but you insist on picking fights with editors and administrators, we have rules here and you chose not to follow them12345. Calling people names(personal attack), digging through their contributions to point out faults whether intentional or not(assuming bad faith), and outright trolling(incivility) will not be tolerated here. This is only temporary, if you decide to come back and contribute constructively, then there will be no problem, but don't come back and start fights again. Thanks for understanding. --CharitwoTalk 14:36, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

User talk:Andrewy
Stop testing stuff here and delete the blog namespace. Do all your testing at the xen1 server where it belongs and stop interfering with local activity unless you want your staff flag here removed. --Charitwo 19th Aug 08
Andrewy and edits to Blog Namespace
Hi Chartwo, Andrewy is one of Wikia's engineers. He was installing the Blog namespace per a request from Gahoo. He is now removing everything as it turns out there are issues getting it to work with Monaco. In the future, can you please take a more polite tone with other staff members? Andrewy was not intending any harm and was following orders from myself and Gahoo. Thanks angies@Wikia 19th Aug 08
- All' testing takes place at the xen1 server, not here at the live wiki where the local activity takes place. And he needs to fix the latest two pages he made because he removed the blog namespace before removing those pages, making them an invalid title due to the preceding colon. --Charitwo 19th Aug 08
