Historical Background

The Uskumru is derived from the Turkish uskumru, referring to a type of mackerel. In a real world comprassion there are several direct corralations. Both mackerels and Uskumru like tropical and temperate seas, both live offshore but can also be found in deep water near coast lines, both are known for their fighting ability, and (although the FFXI picture of a Uskumru lacks detail) they both appear to have a slim, cylindrical shape.
