Historical Information

Valkyries (in German, Walkures) were the "choosers of the slain" in Norse and Germanic mythology. They took the form of beautiful women, and were reputed to be skilled warriors (hence the attack bonus for the Valkyrie's Mask and Walkure Mask). They would ride over a battlefield, and would take the souls of especially heroic warriors slain in battle directly to Valhalla, the Norse equivalent of paradise.
