Virus is a debilitating status effect that attacks the body from within, ebbing life away and limiting your ability to heal and recover mp from refresh. Viruses come in two types, and all abilities or spells that refer to viruses refer to these two effects:

• Disease
• Plague

Spell

Virus is also a Black Magic spell cast by certain NM's:

Inflicts plague on target.

Note The spell "Virus" does not exist for players to learn in the FFXI world, though some monsters are able to cast this spell on players. Used by the following mobs Bloodlapper Mycophile Clone of Flames
