Walkthrough

• Talk to Rholont at (E-7) of Southern San d'Oria (S) for a cutscene related to this quest regarding Squire Altennia's capture.
• Head to (H-10) in Jugner Forest (S). close to the Recall-Jugner point.
• Examine the ??? at (H-10) for a cutscene (it's by one of the wooden legs of the platform).
  • Everyone in your party that needs this quest should click the ??? once before anyone spawns Cobraclaw Buchzvotch
• After the cutscene, buff up and re-examine the ??? to spawn Cobraclaw Buchzvotch.
• After you kill Cobraclaw Buchzvotch, examine the ??? for another cutscene.
  • Everyone in your party now can examine the ??? to complete this portion of the quest.
• Return to Southern San d'Oria (S) and talk to Rholont at (E-7) for the final cutscene and a Military Scrip (key item).
• Additional Step: You could also talk to Wyatt at (L-6) in Southern San d'Oria (S). He will buy the Military Scrip for 22,500 gil, minus his commission, for a total of 20,147 gil.

Notes

• There are Decrepit Gnoles wandering around the area which are very likely to aggro during the fight. Contrary to popular rumors, detection by Gnoles can't be avoided by fighting the NM beneath the ramp, however there is a slight outcropping of rock to the east of the the watchtower near the river which is much safer to pull to.
• Reraise note: If soloing and you die and then Reraise within 20' distance of Cobraclaw Buchzvotch, he will automatically aggro you. However, Sleep II works on Cobraclaw Buchzvotch, so you can Reraise safely if someone else can Sleep it.
• If you have aggro from Decrepit Gnole(s) after you defeated the NM, you can touch the ??? to go into the cutscene and lose aggro.
• If for whatever reason you have to use "Call for Help", you need to zone in and out to pop the NM again.
• Cobraclaw Buchzvotch can be killed while under the effect of Allied Tags meaning no experience will be lost upon dying.
• There is a 5 minute waiting period in between the time the NM is spawned, in case someone else is there killing him before you.
