• Lured by trading a Slice of Carp to the five ??? that appear along the Rafelous River in H-5, the sixth being in I-6 rather far from the rest, during the night (22:00-4:00).
• After 4:00, if a ??? that had carp traded to it is examined, there is a chance of Ziphius spawning.
• Probability of him spawning from any given ???: (19.6%)

• The ??? disappear at 7:00.

• Has Additional Effect: Water Damage.
• Soloable by level 75 for most jobs.

Historical Background

In Medieval folklore, the Ziphius was a creature which was a combination of an owl and a fish. It had an owl's head, a giant mouth, and a very ugly body. It had a fin on its back shaped like a sword. They bore holes into ships, causing them to sink. It was said to reside in the North Sea. Ziphius is the name of a Genus of beaked whales too. Ziphius is a Latin word meaning "sword-like".
